This is a true story, ladeez and gentlemen-and it's little wonder when one glances at the club's interesting program. In November the members provided their companions with enter- tainment plus instruction when they presented a fashion show consisting of a complete wardrobe for a high school girl, made and modeled by themselves. Miss Smith of the DuBarry Pattern Company, commented on the styles and fabrics. ln December the club held a Christmas party at which home-made gifts were exhibited and the club's most newly acquired and highly prized possession, a radio, was allowed to entertain the chosen few. March brought a lecture by Genevieve Blazejowski, who described her travels in Europe and Asia. In May the club held its annual spring dance, which was the grand finale in the year's entertainment. MISS MAY STILES Adviser HE Slide Rule Club under the direction of Miss May Stiles was organized in Passaic High School for the purpose of instructing all pupils interested in the correct use of the slide rule. The club does not resemble any other club of the High School in that there are neither any officers nor any dues, but the whole membership is under the tutelage of Miss Stiles. The club was organized with only one view in mind: to interest and instruct pupils in the rapid and accurate use of the slide rule. Each meeting, on Thursday, is de- voted entirely to the accomplishment ot that purpose. The Slide Rule Club is conducted like a regular class, and all the members show a deep interest in the lessons. This spring a new experiment is being tried by the Mathematics Depart- ment. With the students ofthe Slide Rule Club as a nucleus, a group ot pu- pils assemble once a week, and, under the guidance of Miss Stiles, discuss elements of higher mathematics which cannot be approached in school, Dur- ing these meetings logs fly around the room with reckless abandon, and formulae are used and discarded like scraps of paper. The students them- selves are in charge of these meetings, and each pupil in his turn is chosen to do some research and present his findings to the body as a whole. SLIDE RULE CLUB

RADIO CLUB HE Radio Club is one of the newer organizations of the High School, being introduced last year to satisfy radio-minded students who wished to obtain amateur radio operators' licenses. Although it start- ed out with but a few enterprising individuals, the club can boast of doubled membership this term, two members being girls. At the weekly meetings radio theory and the international code have been mastered. An interesting lecture on the vacuum tube was given by Mary Ann Reeves, the first feminine member. The club is proud of its fully equipped transmitter, and the mem- bers were anxious to pass their license tests in order to operate it. During the year a receiver was built, which automatically gives the members opportunity to put into practice the fundamentals they have grasped. The high school has its own call letter, WZMRQ. Last year one boy received his license to operate his set, and this season President Frank Arvay obtained his. Some members may wish to make a career of radio, as has past President lsrael Sinofsky, who now operates a radio shop in Passaic.
