and Ms. Sadler, went to New Orleans. The junior class was extremely active and capped their efforts by giving a fantastic prom. The student council sponsored a school clean-up week. During the past several years we have watched the band grow mightily under the leadership of Mr. Williams. This year they embarked on the ambitious project of raising funds for new band uniforms. Some of their fund-raising events were a dinner-play at the Waldo Astoria, St. Valentine’s Day dance, a band vs. faculty basketball game and the Paseo alumni sponsored a dance. Outside of building. 5. Smoke damage in the front hall. 6. Thank you, KCFD. for saving our school. For the first time, Paseo had a May Day celebration. It was originated and coordinated by the physical education department under the leadership of Coach Bowie. The physical education classes performed various popular dances of bv-gone years. Each class gave a one-act play under the direction of Mrs. Hunter. Other activities included an art contest, a cake-baking contest, and a track meet between the classes. Hopefully, this will become a yearly event. The Class of ’78 demonstrated true school spirit in their choice of gift to the school. They did not selfishly give a decorative object to call attention to themselves but gave a “living” gift in the form of a new set of drums to the band. For years to come, the Class of ’78 will be a part of each school event, increasing school spirit among the whole student body. We have proven this year that we can “get it together” and overcome flood, ice, snow, and fire. Let's make togetherness a habit. With a unified student body we can create a new spirit, proud to be Pirates, the BEST!
