Cooking and knitting are her main out- side interests. Miss Josephine Baity, English instructor, is a world traveler. At Paseo she is sponsor of the Book Crew. English instructors are occupied every day of the school year in an effort to give Paseo students more than a mechanical knowl- edge of the English language. Attaining an extensive vocabulary is one of the new aims of the English Department. Offered to the seniors are the English Literature classes which teach of the history and heritage of the English language. One of Paseo's chief assets is the Paseo Press, a bi-weekly news- paper which is produced completely by the journalism and printing staffs. The concentrated study of English and the related subjects of speech and drama prepare students for college and for future success in adult life. Mrs. Margaret Falls, English in- structor, serves as sponsor of Jr. Y-Teens. In her spare time Mrs. Falls enjoys reading. Miss Alfrada Bock, speech and drama instructor, spends much time directing Paseo's fall and senior plays. In the summer, she enjoys traveling. Mrs. Magdalen Downie, English instructor, is the advisor of the Paseo Press. Golfing and reading take up much of her leisure time. Mr. H. Gersh, English instructor, is the sponsor of the Chess Club. Even in everyday life ,me knowledge of math is required. It is the duty and desire of Paseo's Math Department to equip ich student with a fundamental working knowledge of mathematics J help him in later life. For students with unusual ability in math, Paseo has adopted le-School Mathematics Study Group program, better known as SMSG. This program is a recent development of a group of out- to anding college professors and has only been in use at Paseo for Mr. Eugene Campbell, mathemat- 1CS teacher, likes to spend his spare time fishing and gardening. Mr. Nelson W. Dwight, general mathematics instructor, is the head coach of the football team and b0YS' swimming team. He is also a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army National Guard. g iree years.
