Sponsored by the American Field Service, Mike flew from Athens to New York and arrived here in Kansas City on August 5, 1961, by bus. Be- sides his mother and father, who have an import-export office, Mike also has a fifteen year-old brother. The many television sets and cars are a few of the numer- ous things Mike has found dis- tinguishing the United States from Greece. Some of his inter- ests are sports and music - as well as eating hamburgers. 'W .aa 5 X 1141 EXCHANGE STUDENTS K. Mack Harnden, Paseo's finalist to the American Field Service, shows both Mikes the Pirate Ship in front hall. Mike Hug is Paseois second foreign exchange from Germany but is under the sponsorship of the International Christian Youth Exchange. Born in Eisenach, East Germany, Mike fled with his family to Stuttgart in West Germany. He attended a boarding school where he first heard of the ICYE. Mike was amazed to see the numerous school activities but he soon became a major part of our school spirit. Football showed a challenging task for Mike, but he was not familiar enough with it to participate the whole season. Besides sports, he is very interested in the field of politics. We will long remember Mike for his friend- liness and spirit of European people. MIKE HUG Preparing work for the drama class
