THE SENIOR CLASS After a year of leading the numerous organiza- tions and contributing to the good of Paseo, the Senior Class of I959 has graduated. Because the seniors were so busy guiding the underclassrnen and participating in various activities, the majority seldom had any spare time. Any senior can remember vividly the newness and the fear of that first day at the big high school five years ago, the making of new friends, the con- stant worry concerning grades, joining various organizations, and finally, their senior year when the primary thing thought about was graduation and, maybe, college. But all discovered that to be a senior is a unique experience of life. SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS PRESIDENT, JOHN SALMON-Jay was Sports Editor of Press and president of Chemistry Club. He also served as treasurer of his junior class, a member of the Executive Board of the Student Council, vice-president of Quill and Scroll and Discussion Club, a lieutenant of Traffic Squad, and a member of Book Crew, Debate Team, Drama Workshop, and Juntos. He plans to attend Washing- ton University or M.I.T. His future occupation will be in either engineering or business. VICE-PRESIDENT, RICHARD COPAKEN-Richard's willingness to work helped him climb to the top at Paseo. A few of Richard's honors and achievements included being chairman of Paseo's Red Cross, Red Cross Midwest Region president, treasurer of Student Council his junior year and president his senior year, Inter-Club president, vice-president of his junior and senior class, Co-Editor of Paseon, and a member of N.H.S., Engineers, Discussion Club, and the Tennis Team. He will attend Cal-Tech to prepare for his future occupation in basic research. SECRETARY, MARY LYNN ALLEN-Serving as secretary of Student Council, Football Princess, R.O.T.C. Queen, a member of A Cappella, a B-team and varsity cheerleader, and secretary of her junior and senior class, were a few of Mary's honors. She was also a Senior Editor of Paseon and a member of Zetas, Pep Club, Y-Teens, and Spanish Club. Next year M.U. will claim this popular girl. After college she plans a career as an airline hostess. TREASURER, GLENN MCCOY-Just mention sports, and Glenn comes to mind. He was on the varsity football, basketball, and track teams, and achieved the honor of receiving honorable men- tion in football. Glenn was president of Engineers and his junior class, vice-president of Student Council, treasurer of the Senior Class, and a lieutenant of Traffic Squad. The University of Idaho will see him next year where he will study forestry. SGT.-AT-ARMS, DUSENE VUNOVICH-This girl has beauty and personality plus. She was a member of Pep Club, Y-Teens, Zetas, A Cappella Choir, and Spanish Club. Her many honors included being a varsity cheerleader, Football Queen, R.O.T.C. Princess, junior continuity officer of the Student Council, and vice-president of Inter-Club. Next year Dusene will be on campus at either M.U. or William Jewell, where she will major in business and minor in music. pl- Top to bottom: Glenn McCoy, Mary Lynn Allen, .lay Salmon Dusene Vunovich, Richard Copaken. -2j.. 1
