Ae,-4 MR. E. E. CURTIS, VICE PRINCIPAL Mr. E. E. Curtis came to Paseo this year from Van Horn High School to assume the responsibilities of Vice Prin- cipal. Of his new post Mr. Curtis says: My first year at Paseo has been interesting, challeng- ing, and rewarding. When students have the courage, conviction, and initiative to shoulder their responsibilities of leadership, they can make a great contribution to the improvement of their school and to the development of fine traditions. This kind of loyalty and service has helped to build the proud heritage we enioy at Paseo. My sincere best wishes to you all. 18- MR. J. C. BOND, PRINCIPAL Having completed i5 years as principal, Mr. J. C. Bond, by faithful service has efficiently led the functions of Paseo. As 'proof of success in his profession, Mr. Bond's name has been listed in Who's Who in America for the last i7 years. He has also excelled in other fields for he was awarded the Silver Beaver for out- standing leadership in the Boy Scouts. I am happy to congratulate the student body on the many excellent achievements of the year. Success has come to us because of your loyalty, your enthusiasm, and your will- ingness to work. To all I express my grateful appreciation, says Mr. Bond. ' A NOTE OF APPRECIATION Mr. J. C. Bond, our principal and friend, has completed fifteen years of dedicated service to Paseo. We are grateful for his tireless efforts on our behalf and especially for his warm friendship. As Mr. Bond closes the door of Paseo behind him, we wish him health and happiness in his future retirement, a retirement that may take him far from the school on the hill he loved so well but can never take him far from the hearts of the students whom he inspired.

MISS RUTH NORRIS, COUNSELOR Miss Ruth Norris, who is now in her l4th year Paseo, has the mammoth task of acting as coun- selor to iunior and senior Pirates. Yearly she helps seniors decide what college they want to attend or what profession they wish to enter and makes certain that they take the appropriate courses. In addition, she is in charge of giving the English, mathematics, and aptitude tests. MISS ROSE MCMASTER, COUNSELOR ln 1957 Miss Rose McMaster came from South- east High School to be Paseo's eighth grade, freshmen, and sophomore counselor. It is her duty to solve their problems, both those pertain- ing to school life and those of a personal nature, and she also assists Miss Norris in giving tests.
