'sf 'th-37' Huck: Mike Montgall, Art Davis. Front: Lew Hinshaw, Nancy Cook, Barbara Thomas. 20 Hinshaw Heads Senior Class Serving for the second consecutive year, Lew Hinshaw was elected presi- dent of the senior class. Filling the rest of the slate were Art Davis, veepg Barb Thomas, secretary, Nancy Cook, treas- urer, and Mike Montgall, sgt-at-arms. Lew appointed the senior committees in a class meeting on February 21, 1957. Creating the senior Hag was the task of Iudy McCully, Iudy Royse, George Ford, and Roy Busdieeker, who watched it raised in a ceremony at the beginning of senior week, May 27 through 31. Working in cooperation with the junior class, the prom committee was responsible for the annual dance May 1 1. Members of the committee were Ion Hartung, Chuck Downing, Ann Krumsick, and Diana Tobb. Planning of the senior assembly fell to Karen Greb, Linda Davis, Don Wal- ters, and Stan Churchill, members of the Senior Day committee. In charge of preparations for the commencement exercises the night of Iune 5 was a committee composed of Lillian McAfee, Phyllis Aaron, Dennis Cowan, and Rob Malech. Responsibility for the senior play went to Ron Sullivan, Gary Fifield, Merna Merrill, and Mary Ioy. Per- formances were presented on May 3 and 4.

Two seniors clasp hands-it might be the jfrst time they'ae met, a ehanee meeting of frm friends, or a jfnal farewell. The sig- nificance of the occasion may aary, but the .symbol remains the same. These hands are the hands of leaders, the hands that afield the gaaels, lead the cheers, edit the news, and contribute so mach to shaping the thoughts and actions of the entire student body. They are guiding, di- recting, and teaching the anderelassmen, who are preparing to assume responsibility in another year . . . or taio . . . or three. A senior should have no spare time, or so most people seem to think. Seniors are in- aolaed in eaery aetiaity they have time for, and many they don't. Being a senior is a once-in-a-lifetime experience-and it's one of the best.
