The National Honor Society for Secondary Schools is a national organization encompass- ing some quarter of a million members. Begun in l900, the National Honor Society corre- sponds to the Phi Beta Kappa of colleges and universities. The members are chosen for four card'nal qualities: scholarship, character, lead- ershfp, and service. ln order to be eligible for membership one must be in the upper twenty- five per cent of his class scholastically. Ten per cent of the Senior Class and one per cent of the Junior Class are chosen each year.
