It is his responsibility to elect good, capable, and above all, qualified and interested representatives to the ASB and SAC Councils. In the election of ASB officers, it is a student's duty to vote, and vote wisely. It is his duty, also, to familiarize himself with the workings of the student government and with the ASB Constitution. He should feel obli- gated to participate in homeroom meetings and to contribute any ideas or suggestions which he may have. Even though he may not be a member of either of the councils, he should be willing to help any coun- cil member or officer. Your student government will be functionally successful as long as each individual student assumes his responsibilities. My father is a lawyer, works for the government in the Foreign Affairs Department just like a judicial assessor. My mother does not work out of the house. B. S. U. Many people have a misconception about the Black Student Union. This is an organization for and by the black student. It is, as stated in our constitution, to take away the bad connotation of the word Black , We feel to do this, we have to get ourselves together and show people of the community and the school, just what we can do. We don't want to work against the A, S, B, , but with it for the good of all. That means every one has to be represented. Also, as stated in our constitution, we would like to bring understanding between each other. . J Q. a f L K xii- ' ' 'F :Q , Q A e as D i ' is H .-J h ssl ' 4 'ffl' 5 BAIUKUAY YK UA! A brilliant mind characterizes her teaching and gives her unusual empathy with the students. Mrs. Jones came to Pasco High in 1958 from Frank- lin Pierce in Tacoma. Mr. Jones' transfer by Bonne- ville Power to the Pasco substation made this move necessary. Mrs. Jones received both her B,A, and her M.A. from the University of Washington with a double major in history and English. Her ability made her the proud owner of a Phi Beta Kappa key. Mrs. Jones is a mem- ber of Delta Kappa Gamma, an international honorary for women teachers, the Audubon Society, A,A.U,W, where she served as president for two years and the Riverview Methodist Church. The students and faculty salute her, as she retires, for her great contribution to P,H, S, 's educational sys- tem. Thank you, Mrs. Jones! in appreciation. . All year is so uncertain, so you just make the best of what you're doing and hope it's right. Sometimes I wondered. . . a lot of times I wondered if it was really worth it. The constant worry of meeting deadlines, the countless hours after midnight, and the hassle of doing too many things at one time have really added up. I feel I've learned something they can't teach you in a book. I've learned about myself, and a little bit about people. People that smiled when I smiled and consoled me when I frowned. There are some people who I must thank: Mrs. Sherry Schwab, for her constant concern, Kathy Mahaffey, for always tryingg Sam Winz, Sandy Gunselman, and Janice Wuitschick for their organizationg Penny Lee, for her encouraging adviceg and the rest of the staff who were always there when I needed them. And, a sincere thanks to the people who make up this book. 2 22-2' 22 22 limi 24322 as gf A0 2 2325531 3312 aff? 2jQ?Ei?1iZ-W 53532530 if 635222. ofyffy .
