H,S. and were auto- matically assigned to the title Class of '58 . Here is om' story. In our Freshman year we spent most of our time getting used to P. H. S. and its customs. For our presidents we elected Dave Everitt and Pete McCallum. For the P. H. S. annual Homecoming, Valerie Eby was chosen as our Princess. Our football cheerleaders were Janet Janes, Nancy Bacon, Lynda Hutchinson, and Viola Stelzig. During basketball season our cheerleaders were Nancy Bacon, Janice Flaten, Laurette Watson, and Janice Weisz. Pete McCallum was our first Twirp Prince. Sandy Zier was chosen as our first May Day Princess. Blenda Hooper received the Outstanding Freshman Award. During our Sophomore ye.ar we chose the leadership of Willie Evans and Valerie Eby as presidents. Our Homecoming Princess was Sandy Zier. Janet Janes was a varsity cheerleader for both football and basketball. For Twirp season, Willie Evans was Sophomore Prince. Our Sophomore Hop, When You Dance , was a big success. Willie Evans and Janet Keltch reigned as King and Queen. In the spring Nancy Bacon was our May Day Princess. Nancy also was a talent show winner. In the first annual spelling championship, a member of our class, Dennis Cresswell, won first place. Our third year, as Juniors, we elected Rich Beck and Dave Milam to the top spot as president of our class. Our Homecoming Princesses were Janet Janes and Janice Flaten. Janet was also a cheer- leader for both sports. P. H. S. also for the first time elected songleaders, and Viola Stelzig was honored as being chosen head songleader. Other songleaders were Delene Coombs and Darlene Hol- ter. A.S.B. vice presidents from our class were Dave Everitt and George Votava. Marilyn Krueger was A.S.B. Secretary and Judy Hoppel was Asst. Treasurer. Our Junior Prom, April In Paris , was a big success, at which Jackie Sm ith and Dave Everitt were Queen and King. Our class also initiated a first by having princes and princesses. For the prom they were Rich Beck, Willie Evans, Viola Stelzig and Janet Janes. Our class also staged the Junior Assembly. This led to Nancy Bacon, Cherry Ann Courteau, and Darlene Holter becoming winners in the final talent show. For Twirp season, Willie Evans and Mel Hoelzle were chosen Princes. At the end of the year Janet Janes and Willie Evans were voted Junior Favorites. Jean McCulloch was honored by receiving the Sorop- timist Award. May Day Princesses Nancy Bacon and Janet Janes represented the Junior Class. Dennis Cresswell successfully defended his spelling championship. Joan Richards was a Rodeo Prin- cess and Jackie Smith reigned as Miss Pasco . During the summer Nancy Bacon, Pat Keane, Janet Keltch, Sylvia Day, and Blenda Hooper were representatives at Girls' State. Dave Everitt, Dave Milam, George Votava, and Jerry Cooney went to Boys' State. Finally we emerged as Seniors at P. H. S. Our class presidents were Spence Kulp and Dennis Cresswell. The new Edgar Brown Memorial Stadium was initiated during our successful football season, during which we gained permanent possession of the Wright-Howard Trophy by beating Kenne- wick 14-0. Dave Everitt was chosen Honorary Captain and Mel Hoelzle was named for the Inspiration- al Award. Dave Everitt was chosen to play on the East Squad in the East-West Football Classic. For our Homecoming, Autumn Glory , Judy Hopple reigned as Queen. She was escorted by Dave Everitt. The Senior Princesses were Marilyn Stork and Roberta Burke. George Votava was M. C. for the as- sembly. A.S.B. officers from the Senior class were Rich Beck and George Votava, Pre sidentg Kenny Jacobs, Vice President, Mary Lynn Shields and Janet Keltch, Secretary, and Judy Hoppel and Sylvia Day, Treasurer. Chosen by a Spokane sports Writer as number one cheerleaders in the state for foot- ballywere Viola Stelzig, Janet Janes, and Laurette Watson. Songleaders were Darlene Holter, Cherry Ann Courteau, and Pat Keane, For the annual Senior Sneak we went to Bingham Springs. Our Senior Assembly, Vaudeville 58 , for which George Votava was M. C. , produced Nancy Bacon, Sherry Brickey, Joyce Seat, Cherry Ann Courteau, and Darlene Holter as winners in the final talent show, for which Mary Lynn Shields was M. C. Our basketball cheerleaders were Viola Stelzig and Roberta Burke. Fascination was the theme of our Senior Ball, at which Dave Everitt and Marilyn Stork reigned as King and Queen. Princesses were Roberta Burke and Pat Keane, and Princes were Spence Kulp and Richie Beck. During Twirp season George Votava was honored as King, escorted by Jackie Smith. Spence Kulp and Kenny Jacobs were Senior Princes. Some awards honored to the Seniors were the Voice of Democracy Contest, won by Janet Keltch, the D. A. R. Award, won by Betti Hines, the Elks Leadership Award, won by Jackie Smith, and Sylvia Day was announced as Homemaker of the Year. For the first time Girl of the Month honors were bestowed on de serving girls. Senior winners throughout the year were Mary Lynn Shields, Sharon Safford, Jackie Smith, and Viola Stelzig, There it is, the highlights of our class from the time we entered P.
