Here being carried off the field by his players is Em Morgan, Pasco High's head football coach. After coach- ing the Bulldogs through a triumphant season, he re- ceived the high honor of being selected as All State Coach. He undertook this task as he would any other task no matter how difficult. Pasco Hi is justly proud of his honor and we know he deserved it. 'ta s ,- lxlri wqi-sl. ASSOCIATED STUDENT BODY OFFICERS Q1 fi. A Vice President ED ROSANE Secretary JACKIE SHUPE Treasurer F zrst Semester President-JIM DAVIDSON In Jim D3V1dS0H7S term of office he accomplished an im- proved method of student government. The ASB also succeeded in obtaining a safety drivers course for the learning and im- provement of student drivers. They also helped with the MARY ELLEN SYLVESTER YVIA conference this year. Many more students belong to the ASB other than pictured on this page. The only reason why they aren't is that there is no room for all of them. So in conclusion we would like to thank them for the improve- ment of student government they have obtained this term. COUNCIL AT WORK 'i wax my f 5 4 President-HUGH CHAPMAN Being as Hugh Chapman has just taken his seat in office we cannot say what he will accomplish as the year rolls on. But we do know he will do an excellent job and be a well remembered leader. By the time you get this yearbook you will however, know what he and his council have accomplished. There most likely will have been a few up-to-date corrections made in our Constitution, plus other improvements in school government. So now we would like to wish Hugh and his council luck in the coming semester even though we do know they'll do an excellent job. The boys' team won one match and girls lost both matches. Both the boys' and girls' teams were weaker than they will be in the spring of 1953. The boys' team was weakened by the loss of the Nearents twins, who were the Yakima Valley High School Doubles Champions, and by the fact that several of the boys were out for football. A promising transfer however, was obtained from Gonzoga High School, in the person of Gary Laz- zaro, singles player. The girls, team also was weak- ened considerably, Rosalie Smith, the number one girls' singles player moved out of the state. Pat Fast, a member of the Yakima Valley Girls under 15 doubles team runnerup injured her back and was unable to play, and sev- eral other letter winners de- cided not to turn out till spring. It is hoped that Pas- co's Tennis Squad in 1953 may repeat its Tennis Cham- pionships of 1952. Q3 9 Q YL. Q0 ,SNQO Q . 5, K 6 X . H . wtsar 'st2fw' er' 3 .Kb t 5' ao. 135. gas' . Joe Amstadt, M.C., started the program by calling Howard Ritter, who first introduced' the idea of Homecoming to P.H.S., to the podium where he made an interesting speech. Altogether it was an interesting and entertaining program, climaxed by the F.H.A. tea. The same evening we witnessed an elaborate float parade, ending the evening with the traditional bonfire of the burning of Kennewick. The next afternoon was the exciting football game with Kennewick in which we won back our trophy. This same evening we concluded the Homecoming activities by the dance at teenage with another crowning of our queen and her court. MRS. DAVIDSON HDGUBY., 5 ..r' , Y .Vg 7.k. .,. , EVN None of us could have asked for a more enjoyable Homecoming than the one our school had this year. We should be proud of our trophy, our football team, and of course the girl they chose to be their queen and also their princesses. And at this time we should not forget to thank Mrs. Davidson, the person behind the scenes that has always worked and strived to make the Homecoming days possible. Let us not forget the Homecoming committee who worked and slaved under Mrs. Davidson's super- vision for just about everything and anything to do with the success of the assembly. So as I said before it's been a great success and next year is going to have to go pretty far to be able to beat it. Thanks again, Mrs. Davidson! We have fought, laughed, agreed, disagreed, and cried over this book. But we loved every minute of it. And we each realize it couldn't have been half as nice without the other's shoulder to cry on. We want to express our appreciation to the faculty for their wonderful co-operation. We realize it wasn't necessary, but very willingly they did everything in their power to help us. With the deepest sincerity in our hearts we thank you. Also we want to thank the student body for their helpfulness. They've stood patiently while we argued over poses. They came back again when it didn't turn out any good, and very cheerfully put up with us. Thanks, staff, for holding your temper, which was not easy with two bosses. Although sometimes we thought we had the dummyheads of the school, you could only have been tops to survive us. You've done a wonderful job for being as inexperienced as you were this year. Thanks again. To Mr. A we want to give very special Thanks. He has lost sleep, lost his appetite but never lost his patience with us. And believe me, it takes a wonderful person to put us with a redhead and a temperamental Irish. We really appreciate it, Mr. A. We only hope you love reading the 1953 Sinewesah half as much as we have loved making it for you. And may it accomplish its purpose of reminding you of.this wonderful school year and its events, as we planned for it to. From the two editors of your yearbook. 305224 and Advisor MR. Barbara has made practically a straight A grade all during her four years of school. She has not only been in N.H.S. but has served as secretary for the A.S.B. council, was sponsored by Soroptimist Club for Girls' State, and has been very ,important in the activities of the class of '53, Jim has held the high honor of A.S.B. president and did a very good job at it. He was sponsored by the Legion for Boys' State and has held many offices in his four years of school. His grades have been above average, which is very commendable for the subjects he has taken. This should be proof enough of the excellent judgment of our faculty. Good luck, kids, for we all know you will succeed in anything you choose to undertake in the future.
