Ed. , Pennsylvania State University I congratulate you, the members of the Class of 1959, upon the completion of your public school education in a period in the history of your country that deals with the atom and space travel. The desire to fix the World in a familiar pattern is an ambition of age, not of youth. Society's natural state of being is motion and fluidity, not stability, and youmust learn to live naturally and be at home in a world so constituted. You need fear it no more than a falcon fears the wind, or a salmon fears the current of the river. Then Victory will come to you as surely as tomorrow. God's plan does not contemplate the defeat of a generation proving itself so gloriously. l, therefore, bid you step forth without fear, but with the consciousness of a high destiny, determined to bend the World you will inherit to the pattern of your ideals. Finally, Iwould recall for your inspiration and guidance these words of Holy Writ: Seest thouaman diligent in his business '? He shall stand before kingsg he shall not stand before mean men.
