H. S. Choral Department, Miss Peggy Lewis has taught for seven years in the Pascagoula Schools. Always striving for perfection, she has led the Choraliers into superior ratings and statewide recognition. Dedica- tion to the purpose of music education and appreciation, Miss Lewis was selected to serve as chairman for both District and State Choral Festivals. Pascagoula scored in the flrst and second quarters after a pair of punts were blocked by jim Bivens. Kenny Turner kicked a PAT and ran for another two points. Tough Panther defen- sive standouts were Lonnie Bla- lock and Terry Taylor. The 'BOOKa scored four times as the Panthers battered Hattiesburg 30-25. The most exciting moment came when Thomas returned :1 Tiger punt 98 yards. Coach Rozzell expressed his delight for the overall play of the team including Mike Davisis two interceptions. iGoula dropped their annual game to the Laurel Tornadoes by 13-12 :15 the Pan- ther offense looked very inadequate. The Panthers couldnk get a march going and scored only on a blocked punt recovered by James Williams, who ran it in for the TD, and the opening kick-off of the second half which was taken by Willie Patterson on a ' revefse for the six points; .e 178 e Pascagoula gave the Murphy High Pan- thers all they could handle in another one point 1055. Gerald Thomas glittered as he gained 247 yards in 23 carries. Robert Gilbert and johnny Walker were outstanding as they and the rest of the squad played one of the most brutal games ever by a Pascagoula team. Although East moved regularly be tween the 15 yard lines the Panther defense stiffened and stopped the Viking threat four times.
