It evolved in strife and later, unity. Each of these colorful floats portrayed the studentsh immense pride. Through all this, the meaning of being a member of our high school and not a class finally began to blossom at P.H.S. This is TRUE PANTHER SPIRIT! ?fene' 77500149 7722:. Eaglxvg?$willll 1 hthfeys One 110 a erffz'on I These words adequately describe PHSts viva- cious librarian, Mrs. Otlenc Moore. For four years Mrs. Moore has graced the high school library by aiding students and teachers and by enriching our learning materials. In adaition, she has won her way into the hearts of most of us and Will leave an indelible impression on the minds of us who are about to leave. In dedicating THE PANTHER, WC have ChO- sen a person who is dedicated to both the teach- ing and learning facets of education, Mrs. Ohlenc Moore. Administration and Principal Mr. T. I. Alexander March 23, 1970 To the Students of Pascagoula High School: This publication represents a sincere effort by the senior class to accurately depict events of the school year 1969- 70. It also represen ts hundreds of memories that you will enjoy te- calling as you thumb through its pages in the years to come. , We are grateful to those who have given of their time and talent to produce this annual so that we might hive an opportunity to recall, in this special way, this school year. To the seniors, we extend our congratulations and wish you well as you depart to accept new responsibilities. I appreciate what many of you have done to help make this a success- ful and productive year. I hope that each of you will be able to set for yourself worthwhile and attainable goals. Sincerely, T. j. Alexafider Principal Outstanding Young Educator of 1970 Pascagoula High SchooPs new principal, Mr. T. J. Alexander, has been named Mississip- pi,s iiOutstanding Young Educatori, of 1970 by the Mississippi Junior Chamber of Com- merce. Mr. Alexander has been principal of PHS for one year and has utilized data processing techniques to help both the teachers and students in their work. His enthusiasm and in- volvement with the students and faculty is the perfect picture of What a principal of the now generation should be. Besides being very active, Mr. Alexander is a well-educated man. He received his B. A. degree from Millsaps College and his mastetis degree from Mississippi College. He has also done other graduate work at Louisiana Polytechnic Institute and the University of South- ern Mississippi. The 1970 PANTHER staff feels that such a reward for someone so close to a class in his first year at PHS is richly deserved. Assistant Principal Mr. Jim Milstead March 26, 1970 Dear Seniors: Now that your high school days have drawn to a close, you fate a new era in your lives. Many of you will go to institutions of higher learning; others will fill positions in various vocations. It is my hope that you pursue whatever field you choose with diligence, dedica- tion, and a willingness to continue the process of learning. It is my sincere desire that Pas- cagoula High School has made a valuable contribution to your education to better enable you to accept the responsibilities and challenges of life. ' May I suggest that, in order for you to make a valuable contribution to our society, you hold moral and spiritual values high, be honest in all your dealings with your fellowman, and uphold all the ideals upon which our nation survives. . My association with the seniors of 1970 has been a most enjoyable experience. Your co- operation, dedication, and accomplishments should inspire and challenge future classes to do their best. h I wish, for each of you, much success in your future. Sincerely, ea g .
