advising us... , , ..',. Both newcomers to the full-time counselor field this year, Mr. Six and Mrs, Nuetzmon took hold of their iobs early and quickly made lots of friends among their fellow teachers and iunior class students. A math teacher and coordinator of the iuniors' program, Mr. Six had the multiple duty of social affairs adviser, the eleventh grade class, and the counseling and testing program for stu- dents. Mrs. Nuetzman arrived from McKin- ley Junior High in March and imme- diately tackled the everlasting prob- lems attendant to programming stu- dents and working with guidance 'J 'eGf .e'S' We'e 'hey busy' '-'ow does Mies. STANLEY GUNSTREAM MISS DOREEN ABBOTT MR. RICHARD O'NEllL Senior Counselor Senior Counselor Seniors, seniors, and more seniors. That's what the counseling trio of Messrs. O'Neill and Gunstream and Miss Abbott were faced with this year. Mr. O'Neill, the veteran of the team, served as coordinator for the twelfth grade. Straight-shooting and sympa- thetic, he was responsible for helping to arrange the Baccalaureate, the graduation itself, the senior prom, and caps and gowns. Moreover, he slated and attended all class council and cabinet meetings and nailed down his Senior Counselor-Coordinator half of the 800 plus seniors' program- ming. Miss Abbott and Mr. Gunstream represented a departure from the or- dinary this year as they traded teach- ing time for their counseling chores. As PHS' first teacher-counselors, it was unnecessary for them to put in over- time to convince others of their value -but they did anyway. Miss Abbott came out of the girls' Phys, Ed. depart- ment for her stint, while Mr. Gunstream left his botany lab for his counseling hours.
