Ogre of lite preaiJenl dSCI,C!Ql'lCl Gollege To the Students of Pasadena College: You hold the fiftieth issue of the La Sierra in your hands. This is another volume in a series that has seen Pasadena College grow from a small Bible School on this campus, to a Liberal Arts College of significant size and of more significant influence. It is your privilege to be a part ofPasadena College at a time in history that offers unlimited challenge. The first readers of this yearbook, in 1915, came to the campus by means of a horse-drawn vehicle. What a transformation! Today one of the most difficult physical problems on campus is to find adequate parking space for student-owned cars. Then it was an unusual event to ride in an automobile. Today jet travel at the speed ofsound is routine. The campus has changed and improved. Student body proportions are vastly different. The curriculum and opportunities for service have broadened unbelievably. Through all this changing pattern for the past fifty years there has run one constant pattern that has not altered. That unchanging factor is the commitment of both faculty and student body to that unique combination of high academic achievement coupled with deep spiritual consecration to Christ. The outflow of that combination is an increasing volume of educated youth going out to serve their generation, to provide leadership in every area of life. It is the hope of the faculty and the administration that this book will be a treasured memory of one of your happiest years. Sincerely yours, W.
