Shelborne Brown assumed the duties of President of Pasadena College on September 1, 1964. Born, january 13, 1918 in Olivet, Illinois, he spent his early years in Nebraska, Arizona, California, and graduated from high school in Denver, Colorado. He graduated from Pasadena College with an A.B. in 1940 and with an M.A. in 1942. Dr. Brown began his pastoral ministry in the Church of Nazarene in Carson City, Nevada. After two years he moved to Banning, California, remaining until 1949. From 1949 to 1952, he pastored at Alhambra Cali- fornia. In 1952 he was elected District Superintendent of the Los Angeles District and served until elected President of Pasadena College. ll

Paul Downey. i The Board of Trustees are elected by the districts of the Church of the Naza- rene on the Southwest Educational Zone according to population. Half laymen and half clergymen. They have the ultimate authority of the college and delegate pow- ers to all school officials whose elections they sponsor. The board has the respon- sibility of the operation of big business and must keep the college growing and solvent. In sum, all actions on school is- sues are in the hands of these men.
