3 PARSONS HIGH SCHOOL PARSONS, WEST VIRGINIA VOLUME XXVIII CONTENTS DEDICATION ADMINISTRATION FACULTY CLASSMEN FAVORITES ATHLETICS ORGANIZATIONS ACTIVITIES EDITOR’S COMMENTS We the staff present to you the 1973 PANTHER year- book. We have developed in a book the pictorial story of school LIFE of the students and their activities, ideas, and accomplishments. We have selected LIFE'S MIRROR as our theme. We hope this year's PANTHER is a mirror of that part of your Life spent in Parsons High School - as you lived it ... as you see it. Editor, 4 I pause to take a deeper look, but at a slower pace this time. Crowding my brain are memories of my never-forgotten school days. 5 “An ever- lasting vision of the ever- changing view” 6 “A wondrous woven magic in bits of purple and gold” Anger, joy, and anxiety shared a part of my emotions At certain times, I felt as if the whole world were against me, but somehow things al- ways worked out. 7 I finish here my steps of travel until I go on to attain higher goals. But I will al- ways have a place left to remember the gentler mo- ments, thrills, and heart- aches ... “A Tapestry to feel and see, impossible to hold.” 8 LIFE’S MIRROR There are loyal hearts, there are spirits brave, There are souls that are pure and true; Then give to the world the best you have. And the best will come back to you. Give love, and love to your life will flow, A strength in your utmost need; Have faith, and a score of hearts will show Their faith in your word and deed. Give truth, and your gift will be paid in kind, And honor will honor meet; And a smile that is sweet will surely find A smile that is just as sweet. Give sorrow and pity to those who mourn; You will gather in flowers again The scattered seeds of your thoughts outbome, Though the sowing seemed but vain. For life is the mirror of king and slave - ’Tis just what we are and do; Then give to the world the best you have And the best will come back to you. Madeline Bridges (Mary Ainge DeVere) TO HONOR MR. ROBERT FELTON 10 DEDICATION We die staff proudly dedicate this yearbook to MR. ROBERT FELTON, in appreciation for his 17 years of faithful work with his boys.
