INTRODUCTION.............3 ADMINISTRATION..........15 SENIORS.................25 FAVORITES...............43 UNDERCLASSMEN...........55 ATHLETICS...............71 ACTIVITIES..............87 ORGANIZATIONS..........105 AD VER TISEMENTS.......119 FOREWORD This is your 1972 Panther, to cherish and to keep. It is an honest attempt to capture, in prose and in pictures, the few years you have spent at Parsons High School. At the same time it will explore the attitudes of your fellow students and the moods which affect them in the environment at PHS, the exhilarations, the depressions, the loves, the apathy. We trust that you, the reader, will find the Panther, a mirror in some small way, of your own experience at this school. Hopefully, it will even teach you something about yourself as an individual. If not, we have failed. 3 To every tiling there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven. A time to he horn, and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A ume to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing. A time to get and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war. and a time of peace. fcclesiastes 3:2-8 time to let the trees grow tall now if they only can 7 time to make our minds up that the world at last is free President Nixon at Elkins, West Virginia on October 4, 1971. time to speak of peace and brother- hood; no matter what might be the cost. 10 DESIDERATA ... You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you con- ceive Him to be, and whatever, your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all is sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. Found in Old Saint Paul's Church Baltimore; dated 1692 . . . time ii WE HONOR 12 MRS. A TYPICAL DAY AT PHS?!? JUNIOR RINGS!! The slowly turning wheel of time finally paused on January 17,1972, for the Junior Class. The day was highlighted when class members finally received their class rings. The class began looking towards the prom and ban- quet by beginning to raise money. They sold stationery, thank-you notes, chances for a radio, and ran a candy store. This page sponsored by NINA B. BUCHANAN 103 Library Staff ]. Miller, D. Strawderman, B. Hovatter, S. Knotts, G.
