Class Of ’66 History The Senior class of 1966 can remember their past four years at P. H. S. with esteem. In 1963 they entered P. H. S. as freshmen, with 120 enrolled students. The students who took the responsibility of the class activities were the following: President - - --------------------... Eleanor Harper Vice-President - - - - — - — - - Eleanor Harper (served most of the year as Pres.) Secretary-------------------------- Lois Hamner Treasurer --- ----------— ... — ... Larry Bates Reporter-------------------------.... Gary Bonner Cheerleader -------------------------Vivian Holler (Donald Silk was elected president but served only a short time as he transferred to another school). The Student Council members were Joyce Barr. Linda Loughry, Robert Gutshall, David Nestor, and Wayne Kellar. Their class sponsors were Mrs. Hazel Bennett, Mrs. Bertie Rennix, Mr. Fred Butcher, and Mr. Joe Frescoln. The following year as sophomores the students who took over as class leaders were these: President - -- -- -- -- -- -- - Eldon Plaugher Vice-President --- -------- - — Helene Gotinsky Secretary .......................Sharon Hedrick Treasurer-------------------------Linda Mullenax Cheerleader - - --------------------- Vivian Holler The Student Council members were Sandy Collins, Judy Kelly, Sheila Nestor, and Sandi Snider. The sponsors were the same as they were their freshman year. During their sophomore year they sold sweatshirts and candy. The exciting year of '65 arrived, the graduating class of '66 entered school as Juniors. Officers for this year were as follows: President--------------------- — - —David Nestor Vice-President .. -...................... Tyke Bodkin Secretary---------------------------- Eldon Plaugher Treasurer.................-..............-John Smith Cheerleader-------------------------------------Sandi Snider The Student Council members were Marilyn Kelly, Linda Loughry, Effie Mae Shaffer and Tyke Bodkin. The only change in class sponsors were Mr. Butcher resigned and Mrs. Katherine Frescoln took his place. To raise money the '65 Juniors took over the candy and pop machines, sold homemade candy, and sponsored a Thanksgiving Dance. The SHADOWS are slowly drawing to a close for the class of 1966. They would like to extend their best wishes to the coming Seniors. 30
