Superintendent’s Message Educational Opportunity is a part of our Tucker County Heritage. We pause in this West Virginia Centennial Year to honor those forefathers who provided both the classrooms and the operating costs from their meager earnings to establish the beginning of public education in Tucker County. If West Virginia is to keep abreast of the space age in the next century, each of us will need to make use of every opportunity to secure knowledge and develop needed skills to make a living. The educational future of each child will be determined by the amount of parental encouragement he receives, the in- creasing efforts of our faculty to impart functional knowledge, and last but not least, the amount of effort put forth by the student. Our highway of learning is traveled once in a lifetime. It can provide a profitable journey if each student, teacher, and parent assumes his just portion of the obligation.
