“
I I P. H. S. at Parsons, West Virginia, nestled in the midst of the Monongahela National Forest is a community that was made by its forest or ‘‘silvan surroundings. {UfiE (2tan oj- 953 jizziznti riJp mmmm VOL. VII MAY 1953 ‘‘Then to Silvia let us sing, That Silvia is excelling; She excels each mortal thing Upon the dull earth dwelling: To her let us garlands bring.” —Shakespeare Thus do we think of P. H. S. among the wonders of nature in the year round beauties of Tucker County’s forest scenery. May this—your book and mine—find a nook in your mind and bring back a smile, a tear, a thrill, a thought, a memory—of your high school days. THE LEAVES The leaves are changing color From green to gold and brown; They’re romping o’er the meadow And all about the town. They’re tumbling and twirling And dancing so slow; Soon all will be sleeping Down under the snow. Then in the spring when days are warm, And snow and ice are gone— You’ll find new leaves upon the trees That tell us life goes on. —Rosemary White I I I SENIOR SPONSORS CARL W. SCHOONOVER B. S.
