Next came our junior year bringing us closer to the top of the ladder of our journey. With it came problems, but we met them with such vigor that success was our reward. This year meant that we were to be the sponsors of the annual Junior-Senior banquet. Those elected to this responsibility were: president, Harry Good for the second consecutive year; vice president, Allen Pleasant; secretary, Lyle Loughry; reporter, Tommy Brown; songleader, Bill Hamby; and Richard Lewis as treasurer. Yes, the boys won the class election and gladly accepted this responsibility. Of course the girls' help was accepted. This year we had Tom Brown, Jim Collins, Lyle Loughry, Robert Plum, Max McDonald, and Harry Good on the football team. In basketball we had Harry Good and Jackie Liller on the varsity. The juniors had eight girls working in the office with seven juniors members of the Tri-Hi-Y and six in fhe Hi-Y. Junior girls and their escorts for the homecoming were; Carol Lewis, Mary Jane Dumire, Sue Flanagan, Twila Wratchford, Alice Harris, Julia Poitevint, Florence Woodham, Beulah Hebb, Richard Lewis, Harry Good, Tom Brown, Lyle Loughry, Jim Collins, Charles Auvil, Billy Hamby, and Allen Pleasant. Harry Good and Brady Stephenson were chosen as the Junior reoresentatives for Good Government Day at the ot.ate Capital. We sponsored the Show Boat Minstrel which proved to be a big success toward raising money for the banquet. Those participating in the minstrel were: Harry Good, Mary Jane Dumire, Lyle Loughry, Margaret Swisher, Allen Pleasant, Carole Lynn Lewis, Alice Harris, Vera Moore, Billy Hamby, Tom Brown, Richard Kisner, Pearl Faye Simmons, Ella Sue Simmons, Pauline Harsh, Jo Et+a Kimball, Erwin Bohon, Eugene Kepner, Madonna Barr, Jo Ellen Oaster, Bonnie Hanline, Roberta Cosner, Twila Wratchford, Brady Lynn Stephenson, Jim Collins, Sue Ann Flanagan, Maxine Phillips, Madonna Bowley and Charles Fazenbaker. That year the girls' basketball team were champs of the class tournament. Playing were: Pearl Faye Simmons, Julia Poitevint, Brady Stephenson, Sue Flanagan, Mary Jane Dumire, Vera Moore, and Florence Woodham. Harry Good and Allen Pleasant both won two first place honors on the popularity contest. Those who had charge of the arrangements for the banquet that spring were: Jo Ellen Oaster, Jo Etta Kimball, Allen Pleasant, Alice Harris, Don Nestor, Harry Good, and Jim Collins. And now the top of the ladder has almost been reached. We are seniors. For many our ladder will have been climbed but for many the journey has just started. We had Harry Good, Lyle Loughry, Tom Brown, Max McDonald, Allen Wolfe, Charles Auvil, and Edward Turner out for football. Four of these were lettermen: Harry, Max, Lyle, and Tommy. Madonna Bowley was chosen as the Panther Homecoming Queen and Allen Wolfe was her escort. Sue Ann Flanagan and Brady Stephenson were senior majorettes for the high school band. In basketball we had Charles Auvil, Harry Good, Junior Johnson and Max McDonald. Seniors chosen for the N. H. S. were: Sue Ann Flanagan, Brady Stephenson, Don Nestor, Jo Ellen Oaster, Maxine Phillips, Harry Good, Allen Pleasant, Richard Kisner, Nancy Hanna, Madonna Bowley, Vera Moore, Mary Jane Oumire, Orville Carr, Alice Harris, end Bonnie Hanline. The final page has been turned to bring the book to fold on the history of another senior class. To Parsons High, we remain grateful for her con+rivuMon +o our education and social life.
