Included in the group were I I previous letter winners, the largest amount of experience available since before the war. Synonomous with the large supply of players at hand was the lengthy twelve game schedule that faced the Kelly Greens between April I I and May 26. This full schedule meant at least 2 games a week for the club and contained 8 Iowa Conference games. Coach Young's biggest obstacle in building a winning ball club was, as can be expected, nnding an adequate pitching staff. Eight such mounds- men did appear on the scene by the opening of the season and it was hoped that the season would be one of great satisfaction.
