The Wildcats started slow and failed to score in the first quarter. However, things started with a bang in the second period with the Kelly Greens pil- ing up 27 points. Gorman, Nor- man, Bob Brown, and Shumalcer crossed the double stripe and Kane converted three times to make the halftime score read 27.0. ln the second half Shumaker intercepted a pass and went 85 yards to score. In a hard- fought battle Parsons emerged on the long end of a 13-6 score. ln the second quarter Shumkaer scor- ed for Parsons on a 86-yard run. The Beavers retaliated at once re- turning the next kick off 86 yards to knot the score. In the third period Poon Gorman went over on a quarterback sneak from the two-yard stripe for the final coun- ter. The Kelly Greens went down by a score of 7-6 after playing their hearts out. Parsons scored on a Hat pass from Wahrer to Shumaker who took it on the eight-yard line and raced over. The Peacocks scored in the second period and converted to make it 7-6 and that's how it end- ed. The Wildcats outrushed Up- per Iowa and registered more first downs but could not score again. Pleasant before an over- flow crowd at Alumni Field. After the game got under way few people were in doubt as to the outcome and the Wildcats blocked, tackled, passed and ran as never before. Parsons first counter came with two seconds left in the first half. Wahrer shot a flat pass to Gillaspie who went over. Sug Kane converted to make it 7-0. Parsons scored again in the third period when Shumaker took a lat- eral from Peters and went over standing up. The final score came in the fourth quarter on a pass from Welsh to Shumaker who went over from the three-yard line. Kane's extra point was good and the linal was 20-0.
