The Bulldogs, taking advantage of Parsons' weak defense scored al- most at will and ran up 262 yards from passing. The visitors could gain but 73 yards by rushing which shows how the Parsons line func- tioned. Parsons' score came late in the fourth quarter when Bob Brown swept around end to score from the one-foot line.

Bob who never played football before coming to Parsons developed into a rough, tough guard be- fore the season was over. He was a good steady player who could be counted on to get his share of the tackles. Berg stands 5 feet I0 inches and weighs l90 lbs. LUNDQUIST Tackle Floyd Lunclquist, better known as l..unk, was con- sidered by many as the out- standing tackle in the confer- ence. The Fairfield sopho- more was the mainstay in the Wildcat line rarely missing a tackle. l..unk who acted as game captain most of the time stands 5 feet Il inches and weighs 195 lbs. SHUMAKER H alfback Bill Shumaker, freshman halfback from Ottumwa. Shu led the conference in scoring, crossing the double stripe nine times during the season for a total of 54 points. Two of his score were from 85 yards out which shows his speed and tricky open held running. Bill also received Honorable Mention on the Associated Press Little All-American team.

The Dutch unleased all their pow- er in the final quarter to score three times and take home the bacon by a 26-6 score. johnny Wahrer scored for Parsons from the l2-yard line and then his play inspired the Wildcats to hold for three periods before going down to defeat. Center OCT. I9-SIMPSON lnclianola Parsons 20-Simpson I3 The Kelly Greens traveled to Indianola to spoil the Simpson Homecoming by a 20-14 score. This was the first win for Tib Young's men and it was a sweet one. The under-dog Wildcats scored first when Don Brown plunged over from the two-yard line. Simpson scored in the sec- ond quarter and converted tto lead 7-6. Simpson opened the third period by scoring on a pass and again converting to lead l4-6. At this point Parsons began to roll being sparked by Johnny Wahrer. john Peters sco-red from the one- yarcl line and Sug Kane conver- ted to make it I4-13.
