On registration day the upper class girls brought the new girls to the Welcome Tea which was held at Ballard Hall. During the first week the Y. W. C. A. and Y. M. C. A. sponsored the All-College Mixer, which was held at the Trustee Gymnasium. The annual Christmas party for the children of Fairfield was attended by about one hundred and forty children who were given candy and gifts. The Y. W. C. A. cabinet is grateful to the P. E. O. Chapters C and HA, the welfare department of the Women's Club, the merchants and business men of Fairfield who generously contributed to the Christmas tree. Ruth Garmoe, social service chairman, directed the party.

A. has done everything in its power to further the social and spiritual life of the campus. With the cooperation of the Y. W. C. A. it has carried through the all college mixer, a progressive party and the picnic in the spring. Another much appreciated activity is the second-hand book store which enables many students to purchase their books more cheaply. The planning of Y. M. C. A. activities is done by an executive council composed of the officers and committee men. These are men -seriously interested in Y work. Their endeavor has been to discover the needs of the students and to plan to Hll these needs. N Meetings were held at the beginning of the school year to help the men of the college to become better acquainted with fellow students. Many common interests were discussed and a fine fellowship resulted. Later in the year the Y. M. C. A. cabinet supported the establishment of the International Relation Club. This club is rapidly finding a place in the activity of the students and is filling a need today.

Fred Hinkhouse The International Relations Club was organized and held its first meeting in january, 1935. It offers to students an opportunity to discuss international alfairs and their relation to campus life. The group has a fine library of 25 volumes furnished by the Carnegie Foundation. This club is of especial interest to students of past and modern history. FRENCH CLUB Parsons College now has a flourishing Cercle Francais which furnishes an op- portunity for students of French to practice speaking the language. They presented a French play for the benefit of the German Club, and any others interested in the study of French. The French Club is in its first year, having been organized by Mrs. Simmons in the fall of 1934. GERMAN CLUB The German Club was organized at the same time as the French Club by Dr. William Schreiber The German Club presented a play in German telling the Christmas story and then the college students were taught some German hymns. The club is a fine way for the students to get practice in speaking the language and to learn some of the customs of the German people.
