SOCIAL CALENDAR September 10-New students arrive and register. 11-Upper classmen register. Freshmen form the famed baby parade at Booster Club Meeting. Y. W. C. A. Tea for new girls. 12-Classes begin. 19-Bob Long chosen Editor of Port for coming year. 23-Zetas hold open house. Congratulations, boys, on your color schemes. 27-Psychological tests. The freshmen now know how dumb or smart they are. 28-Girls' Pep Comittee announced. Something ought to happen now. Z9-Football season formally opens with Western State Teachers. State Teachers 7, Parsons 0. A poor start signifies a good ending. October 1-Campus takes on a greener aspect. Freshmen wear first green caps for the year. 2-Port staff chosen. 4-Peira staff chosen. 5-Carthage 0, Parsons 7. Rah! Rah! Parsons! 9-Y. M. C. A. Sweat Shirt Party. 10-W. A. A. Skating party. 11-Opening Y. W. C. A. Charm School. Ought to have some charming girls, now. 12-Parsons 18, Simpson 14. Freshman party at Walton. 15-Faculty Reception. Is your name Smith or jones now? 14-Ballard Hall opens house. Many souvenirs are taken. 17-Empyrean Weiner roast. 19-Parsons 15, Penn 7. Zeta Rush Party. 20-A. K. X. Rush Party. 24-Freshmen bow to upper classmen. Why? Button Day. As usual it rains. 25-Elzevir Sorority entertains Faculty and new girls at tea. 26-Fraternity pledging. Question: Will the pledges be treated as nicely as they were while they were being rushed? 31-Campus takes on many queer aspects. Halloween. November 2-Philharmonic Choir party at Oakland Mills. 3-Columbia 7, Parsons 2. Muddy day, wasn't it boys? 16-Beginning of Homecoming. Pep rally in chapel. Bonfire on Alumni Field. Torchlight parade. Freshman pajama parade. Lucky the night was warm. 17-2,000 Homecoming fans see Parsons Wilcats ditch Dutchmen 7-0. Freshmen win the Freshman-Sophomore scrap. Reward: No green caps after Thanksgiving. 18-Musical Vesper Service. 19-Sorority Rush Week begins. 23-Formal W. A. A. Dance. 24-Elzevir Rush Breakfast. Empyrean Rush Luncheon. Formal pledging after an hour of silence. My, but it is hard for girls to keep their mouths shut. 27-Jordon proves that men can talk as well as women. He wins first in the local peace contest. 29-Parsons 6, Wesleyan 3. The end of a successful football season.
