ET TU lBlRlUTlUS? Alias Elven Then as Nofww Civilization does not seem to be growing and expanding so much as we thought it was. Even back in 1909 students of Parsons were going to the park on browses. Also, there was a Gracie Allen registered from Birmingham-Burns didn't show up until a few years later. In the same year these oddities were found on the campus. BALLARD HALL: A Hash-House of great popularity, with fine parlor service. Bad place to be locked out of. BLUE BOOK: Vehicle of a flunk. Known in common conversation as the Blue Death. FRESHMAN: A verdant production of extreme youthg a human being in that state of development following Buster Brown suits and perky hair bows. HUMAN OSTRICH: A dormitory girl invited out for a meal. SOCIETY SPIRIT: Something the faculty believes is growing less pronounced. Such crust-they're swiping our stuff! Ask Norton McClean about, When Mother was a Girl . They wore B. B. Suits in those days that appeared as though they were dressing for zero weather. So shocking, my dear, the way in which her left ear was so vulgarly exposed for the whole crowd to see! Back when, Norton's papa was a member of the Bachelors' Club. THEN AND NOW- Wanted: Someone to answer present in Greek-Tincher in Psychology, is an out- growth of that practice. A pony for Latin-French will do just as good. An audience to listen to my oration-wonder if any of Ped's kin could have uttered that little wish? A lunch at midnightfBallardites. Parsons students of today are fast losing their originality. In 1910 they were likewise trying to find: Who never flunks. Who unstrung the piano. Who always stags it. Who gets canned from the Lib. Who sleeps in class. Who is always late. Who cuts chapel. Who wears a diamond. Who wants a man. Who always gets back to Ballard after the lights are out. Who always pays his dues. Who can smile like Prexie. It seems that 25 years ago the students had all the fun we now enjoy. They even had our Professor Carter, McKenzie, and Moorhead. But we've got something on them-they never heard Prof. Brower's jokes nor could hitch-hike from the campus to town on the new pavement. Ha! Ha! Ha! I thought punning was of 1934 origing but in 1913 they used to ask, Can you imagine Sunday at Ballard without hymns fhimsj ? Oh. me!
