WCMENS ATHLETICS Director-Miss Martha Wise The department of Womens Athletics has prospered under the guiding hand of Miss Wise and the great success of the Gym Exhibit is proof of her fine work this year. THE GYM EXHIBIT-I935 Lights! Music! The annual Girls' Gymnasium Exhibition of Parsons College is on its way. Trim blue clad figures stepped briskly around the Trustee Gymnasium to the tune of stirring marches. Now the fundamentals class bring the grand march to a close by taking their places on the floor to present a short but energetic calisthenic drill. Next the class goes into two clever folk dances. Dances over, what next? Here come some hand springers turning over and over. Two limber young ladies go to the mat and give the audience some thrills with their flip-flops. The tumbling class ends the first part of the program with pyramids and numerous other formations much liked by the audience. The second part of the evening is given by the Rhythm Class and opens with a moonlit dance to the rhythm of A Valse . Now three white robed figures appear on the stage-red lips, red finger nails and red toenails set off the plain white robes. These girls lead us through a rhythmic study. Next a wild, fast gypsy dance ending the second part of the evening. Strains of Dixie usher in the tap dancing class which proceeds to enliven the gym with some mass tapping. Then four young ladies entertain with a tap dance on steps, so much enjoyed by the audience that it must be repeated. The end must come to every good thing and so all the classes join in to present a Swedish clap dance with variations and forming the grand finish' Miss Martha Wise is to be congratulated upon the outstanding success of this year's exhibition. We are certain that much work was expended by Miss Wise and her pupils in order to present it.
