'-lf Class Hlstory The hnstory of the class of 1942 of the Parshall Hlgh School of the Cnty of Parsha1l State of North Dakota is as follows One day xn September 1930 a group of young recrults entered ch ranks of Parshall School wlth Miss Brlghtbxll as their Captain Seven of these recruits have served for twelve years and are now about to complete thexr term of servrce and recexve an honorable dlscharge They are Edythe Finke Lyle Iverson Parry Klme Albert Tompers Audrey Madsen Marlon Monson and orgena Olson In 1932 Gary Lerberg and Audrey Raywalt were transferred to our company but Audrey later dropped out In 1933 Betty Steffen Fred Raywalt and Robert Stanek also jomed us Fred dropped out at the end of hzs exghth year Loretta Clark and Leo Rambur were new recrunts ln 1934 Ruth Olson Dorothy Tompers and Paul Warren m 1935 Robert Casey and Richard Casey rn 1936 and Margery lV1cI'Iatt1e m 1937 Twenty two prlvates carefully tramed by Mrs Kjel str-up were promoted to the rank of I-lxgh School ln 1939 Others were transferred from Fessen m den Raub Rosegl n and other rur l c mm ntxes swelll the number t 3 1f7z1oc0fffgJ G92 LJ? W T m g1L1o lon to lg Sc ool msplre tlfelm wifi f se assurance Because of their superlor lntellgence the Sophomores sought to humlllate them and make them to feel lxke they were nothing but the scum of the earth But they came bravely through all kmds of torment and mdlgnlty for a perlod of two days and even put on a program for the edrflcatlon of the upper classmen It was fun althugh they hate to admlt xt All through their Freshman year they retamed their awe for the untouchable Senxor But as the tlme for testing approached they faced the ordeal with hopeful hearts and advan ed to the rank of Sophomore wxth flying colors As Sophomores they made a much better showmg and gamed a certain amount of prestige by their xmtxatxon of the Freshmen They entered various extra curricular actlvltles and were en tered ln contests both at Plaza and Mmot and dlsplayed considerable ablllty They were joined by Kenneth Krueger Clark Hendrickson Robert Hove Earl Llebel Wilfred Myers Bernice Struck Phyllis Werlmger Gladwm Roberts and Lyle Llebel who dropped out before the end of the year Agam they successfully passed their tests and were promoted to the rank of unlor As unlors they were Jomed by Lxlllan Kraft Donald Mlller and Maxine Renner They now began to dnsplay unusual abxllty along various lxnes As their class play they presented 'The Phantom Tiger in the Clty Theater This netted them enough money to entertain the seniors and faculty with a banquet and prom which was greatly enjoyed by all They were now looking forward to takxng their places m the Senior rows Elaine enson and Anne Brugh were added to the senior roll and Maxine Renner was dropped The Semor class consisted of 39 members the largest m the lustory of the school They presented ane Eyre as their Semor class play Robert Casey and orgena Olson wer elected Klng and ueen of the Hlgh School Carmval and other members of the Senior class were members of the royal party at the coronatnon Gary Lerberg Robert Casey Lyle Iverson Marlys Scheer and Dnck Casey were members of the cast of The Valiant which was presented at th State Contest nn Grand Forks Whxle the last year has been saddened by the untxmely demise of two beloved classmates Dewey Luchsmger and Ednth Nelson we have been brought to a sudden realxzatlon of the un certamty of lute We trust this may prove a valuable lesson to us and will make us more thought ful of the future f ASS OFFICE PRESIDENT VICE PRESIDENT TREASURER SECRETARY ADVISOR ROBERT CASEY RUTH OLSON BETTY STEFFEN MARION MONSON MRS CRIPPEN 0 1 - v , C y s 1 i 1 7 ' a 9 - 3 1 y 3 - ' 1 - ' 9 '9 ' y 9 v - ' ' 1 , 1 . f . . . . . . : . .
