The HONORS COURSE this year was taught by Dr. Roy Patteson. This year the studies were con- centrated on the rise of Western Civilization. The group made several trips to the planetarium and observatory during the year. The HUMAN RELATIONS CLUB of Parry McCluer is a newly formed club this year. Its purpose is to provide better understanding between people of all races. The membership of this organization is open to anyone enrolled at P.M.H.S. between the grades of eight and twelve. 22

The BETA CLUB is a leadership-service organization with membership limited to those who have a 3.0 grade average in their subjects. Activities for the club this year included helping with the Ring Dance, and attending the annual Beta Convention. The club will be phased out at the end of the year to make room for the National Honor Society. The Beta Club helps the Seniors with the Ring Dance. Ramsey, Gatzke, and Kizer compete on Klassroom Kwiz. ZI

The DISTRIBUTIVE EDUCATION CLUB is open to students enrolled in D.E. The students compete in various sales related contests on district level and winners may go on to state and national contests. Other activities have included helping with the opening of Glen Maury Park in September and spon- soring the Thanksgiving food drive. The FUTURE BUSINESS LEADERS OF AMERICA was organized to help students participate as individuals in group endeavors and projects under the guidance of representatives of education, busi- ness, and professions. The FBLA also travels to state and national leadership conferences as well as to District workshops and training sessions, visits to other local chapters and to business and industrial enterprises. 23
