Senior Class Prophecy As I sit here today in the year 1990 teaching my students, my mind keeps wandering back to last night, the reunion of the class of 1960. Our olddays of youth and happiness were renewed as we talked of our separate destinations and achievements. Dina Albanese has finally had her wish come true. Dina now has her own football team made up of her own eleven boys. Jerry Ballard, while in high school always loved to sh oot marbles- looks as though he lost them all. He is now in the Staunton Asylum. We found that Doris Beard is now happily married and is living in the suburbs of New York City. Gaytha Blackburn is owner ofa chain of beauty salons. Gaytha was also the first person to own a successful beauty shop on Mars. Remember how Joe Bonousedto love to dance? Well, Joe's danc- ing took him sky high and he now teaches the Martians on the Moon how to Rock 'n Roll. I am sure you remember seeing Stirling Breeden working at Lewis' while we wereinschool. Stirlingnow owns Lewis' and the rest of the block a roundit where he has just finished building a large Shop- ping Center. Joe Byers, while in high school, was pretty good at swinging on grapevines. Nowthirty years later, he is still swinging--on a rope a- round his neck. Remember how Harry Carter used to love to imitate singers? It seems as if all of Harry's practicing really led to something because he is‘pow doing impersonations of all the top singers. Donnie Cash, who had his own Combo while we were in high school, now is the leader of the greatest orchestraever, ''Donnie's Rockbridge Music Makers. Remember how James Cash used to always be making trips to Lexington? Well, now he runs a toll highway from Buena Vista to Lexington. Kathy Cash is another of our classmates who decided to make homemaking her career. Kathy is now a successful wife and mother. Jane Chittum is issuing operator's licenses in Amherst County since she was appointed Buena Vista's best woman driver of 1960. Iam sure you have all heardof Cecil Clark's Hillbilly Band. Cecil plays the fiddle in her band and she holds dances at Montebello, Vir- ginia. Geraldine Clark has really gone a long way from home since she married John and theymoved to California. Frances Claytor, who loved Government so well in her senior class, is now teaching the same class at Parry McCluer. Ray Clements has really gone a long way as the owner of alarge trucking line. Julie Cullen is now happily married. Julie has also returned to Parry McCluer where she is teaching music. Margie Cullen is also happily married but she has decided to be a fulltime housewife and mother. Remember how brilliant K. E. Fitzgerald was in algebra and plane geometry? Well, he went on to major in mathematics and is now a professor of math at Yale University. Reginald Fix is making his career in the R.A.F. where he has now worked his way up to a Sergeant. Remember how Wayne Gilbert used to love to travel? Wayne is now traveling right out of the world - he is a space pilot from Earth to Mars. Nancy Gilliam, her husband, and her three children are living happily on the moon. Incidently, they were the first to set up house- keeping there. Joe Glass, who was really a whiz at geometry, is now teaching it at Harvard University. Remember how Betsy Grow couldn't stand the way the school was run? Well, Betsy found a solution to this problem by taking over the principal's job at Parry McCluer. David Grow is now a professional basketball player. known as the greatest pro of our time. Bo Hensonhas really made a contribution to the world -- Bo was the first scientist to land on the moon. Jane Hickman has just been elected as President of the U.S. Jane is the first woman to ever accomplish this. Norma Jean Higginbotham, who had such a pleasing personality, is now using her charm as she does commercials on television. David is 27 Remember how Jimmy Jenkins wanted to go to Bluefield College? Well, he is still there -- he can't get out. Chip Kirkpatrick is the first Democratic President of the Union of Soviet Socialists Republic. He is now touring the U.S. to maintain good will between the U.S, and Russia. If you look down on Magnolia Avenue, I am sure you will see Danny Kline there as the head bag boy at Mitchell's Market. Bob Liebis another of our students who is successfully married. Bob now has twelve children. Betty Lineberry, who loved the secretarial course when she was in highschool is now the shorthand and bookkeeping teacher at South- ern Sem. Glenn Lynn who hada neat handwriting when he was in school, was arrested -- it seems he was so good at writing that he began to sign other people's names on checks. Sam Mays has been working for years on one problem and he has finally solvedit -- he is the scientist who discovered how to make cars run cheaper. Judy McElroy has taken over Shorty'' Shewey's position over the cheerleaders. Glada Montgomery always did like to travel and her dreams all came true when she was the first woman to reach the moon. Bo Moran isa bigtime fighter and is now in training to try out for the world's championship. Remember how Jimmy Ogden while in high school was pretty good with a hammer? Now he is using a bigger hammer -- making little rocks out of big ones. Brenda Ramsey has established the first hospital on the moon. Linda Rhodes finally acquired her wish to become an airline hos- tess. Linda now owns her own airline corporation. Carolyn Sandidge who was so brilliant in shorthand and typing classes has taken her secretarial work seriously and is now private secretary to the President of the U. S. Marolyn Sandidge, nowa wife and mother, is making a successful home on the road as she travels with her husband and his orchestra. Danny Shafer is comfortably retired on the moon after serving twenty years in the Air Force. The very brilliant scientist who invented a car which need no driver is our own classmate, Gene Shafer. Billy Snider whose main interest was always sports has returned to PMHS as the head coach of football, basketball, and baseball. Jerry Statome is now the owner of a large chain of pool rooms a- cross the world. At a game at the arena, we found that Ronnie Statome was coach of the Buena Vista Celtics. We found that Buck Stinnett is now the number one pitcher in the Major Leagues, He is playing for the Boston Red Sox. Ollie Stinnett now ownsa cattle ranch in Texas. He also operates a few oil wells on the side so between his cattle and oil, he has beef and oil to cook it in. Bonnie Vest is now a beautician at Irvine Sacks Beauty Saloon in New York. We found that Lucille Vest is working as head of the women's dress department at the Valley Store. Joe Wheeler who became a professional football player, has just been chosen as a member of the All-American Team. Loretta Wheeler whose ambitionwas to become a telephone opera- toris now an employee of the ''Talk-a-While Telephone Exchange in Los Angeles, California. Remember how Bob White always wanted to be a jet pilot? It seems as if his dream came true and he is now a famous jet pilot for United Air Lines. You can find Judy White in a big Virginia Hospital where she is the Head ofthe Nursing Staff. Judy also has a family of five children. Nyoka Widdifield has worked her way up as manager of the Nose Muff Factory in Florida. Arlene Williams who could always work bookkeeping problems has become anaccountant. Arleneis also married and now has two of the four children she has always wanted. As for me, I have returned to Parry McCluer to teach art, and now I have to stop daydreaming about my old classmates and memories and get back to my class. Mary Frances Tomlin

Class Will We, the Seniors of '60, being of sound mind, do here- by make, publish, and declare this to be our last will and testament. To ‘ole Parry McCluer we leave our hearts and our memories. To the Juniors we leave our so called distinguished place as Seniors, our Senior privileges, and our refined manners. To the Sophomore Class we leave our stupendous athletic ability, our joyful ways, and our patience. Stirling Breeden wills his half of our '52 Chevy to his brother, Bill, if he will have it. Joe Byers wills his ability not to smoke to Donnie Bates. Harry Carter wills his ability to milk a cow to Dutch Loughhead. Donnie Cash wills his ability to get out of class to his friend, Don Sylvester. James Cash wills his ability to get kicked out of 6th periodclass and still maintaina B average to Basil Tripp. Kathy Cash wills her sewing ability to Phyllis Lynn and hopes she will be better at it than she was. Jane Chittum wills her ability to drive a car to Dot Lynn, and hopes she has less car trouble. Cecil Clark wills her seat in Royers Restaurant to Alice Wheeler. Geraldine Clark wills her ability in government to Gay Clements, andhopes that she is better at it than she was. Frances Claytor wills her love of talking all the time to Carol Schuyler. Ray Clements wills his church key to 'Squanto Jewell. Julie Cullen wills her ability to go steady with a boy named Sammy to Dot Lynn. Margie Cullen wills her visits to Lynchburg to Donna Glass. K.E. Fitzgerald wills his ability to get along with Lexington girls to Puddles Tripp. Reginald Fix wills his place as chauffeur at lunch time to Tommy Dickinson. Wayne Gilbert wills his seat in government to Dutch Loughhead. Nancy Gilliam wills her half of her broken ruler to Carolyn Wiseman for bookkeeping class. Joe Glass wills his ability to be everywhere on time to Joe Chittum. Betsy Grow wills her ability to go steady with the same boy for a year to Judy Pryor. David Grow wills his height to Billy Seay. Bo Henson wills his ability to get out of class to his brother, Bobby. Jane Lee Hickman wills her distinction of being the only girl in physics class to Lulu Williams. Norma Jean Higginbotham wills her giggle to anyone who is crazy enough to want it. Jimmy Jenkins leaves his plane geometry book (which he has used for two years) to anyone dumb enough to want it. James Kirkpatrick wills to the class of '61 all his pencil stubs. Danny Kline wills his ability to smoke in the building without getting caught to Jimmy Jewell. Bob Lieb can't leave anything because he is going to need everything he's got. Betty Lineberry wills her position as class president to her sister, Lisa. Glenn Lynn wills his ability to write good excuses that are acceptable to his brother Eugene. Sam Mays wills his seat in government class to Tommy Smith. Judy McElroy wills her position on the cheerleading squadto all the girls at P.M.H.S, that want to be a cheer- leader. Glada Montgomery wills her pleasant evenings after school in Royers Restaurant to Mary Rivers. Donald Moran wills his football scars to his brother, James. Jimmy Ogden wills his ability to pass a few subjects to Tommy Cash. Brenda Ramsey wills her seat in 2nd year French to Edith Spence. Linda Rhodes wills her size to Donna Glass. Carolyn Sandidge wills her place in the Beta Club to Peggy Entsminger. Marolyn Sandidge wills her ala rm clock to Mary Lou Williams. Danny Shafer wills his height to James McNally. Lucille Vest wills her cooking ability to Mattie Burch and hopes she will be better at it than she was. Joe Wheeler wills his winning ways with teachers to his sister, Freda. Loretta Wheeler wills her good times at P.M.H.S, to her sister, Lucille. Bobby White wills his ability to steal crackers to all the crackerless people in the lunch room.
