Billy Wheeler, Jean Wilmeth, Jeanette Wilkins, Bobby Wilson, Bobby Withers, Remember When We were so proud of William Smals for winning first place in the Spelling Bee in the seventh grade? We thought we were so big at our seventh grade commencement, but when we entered high school the upper classmen made us feel- oh, so very, very 1-i-t-t-l-e? We freshmen girls were initiated by having to wear short skirts and hair ribbons? We had so much fun in Mrs, Carper's English class until Julius Caesar came along ? All the Girls Swooned over Kostel and Gates ? Joyce and Shirley were elected cheerleaders ? Miss Glass promised to show us movies next! year ? We thought next year would be just a year of movies--what happened to them ? Mrs. Seay left and Miss Meador took over the Library? We were all so proud of Dale when he made his first touchdown ? Martha Grae, Anna Jane, and Dorothy Smith were majorettes ? Joyce had her rounds with Mr. Bowman? Mr. Hickman blushed so easily ? There were fights after the dances--N, B. boys versus B, V, boys? We visited Seay's every afternoon and night? The girls transferred their affections to N, B, boys? We went to Charlottesville and saw University play George Washington ? Our rings came and we were So proud of them ? We came into Room 25 and found Dinkey as a classmate? The seniors were granted their senior privileges (singlar, please)--that privilege of entering through the front door ? The seniors put on three one-act plays ? We had English under Mr. Barnhill and he gave us those essays (really, they were books) to write? Our pictures finally came and everybody looked like something found in the zoo or behind prison bars instead of the good looking things we were? Dinkey received his induction papers in the junior year and how we had to fight the Korean War with him every day ? : The boys had to move the piano during government class every Monday morning after a dance? There should bea number of good piano movers inthe 1952 class--anyone wantsa piano moved? Some of us had free periods ? Rufus entered school--1950 ? Larry, Peo, and O,C, started dating Seminary girls? We had our Christmas festivals and Alice Jane was the 1951 Queen? The seniors gave a Hobo Dance and everyone had such a good time? The juniors entertained us after the Senior Class play? We almost didn't have a Junior Class play? We had such good times at pep meetings ? Martha Grae was Football Queen and Peggy and Rita were attendants ? All the girls wanted to dance with Mr. Turner ? Mr. Schaub and Barnhill got married and there were pieces of broken hearts scattered all over the premises ? Frances Banks, Shirley Foster, and Alice Harris continued their musical training at the Sem- inary? And Martha Grae took riding lessons ? We anxiously awaited the first peep on our report cards? Some attended the Beta Convention in Roanoke--especially remember Mt. Vesuvius erupting ? Peggy, Carolyn, and Clara went to Charlottesville for the forensic meets? There was an appendicitis epidemic and someone was always taking up a collection for flowers or fruit--we never knew who was going to be next? Sonny Paynter was always helping decorate for dances--besides his talent he had good connections with the Five and Dime? Larry was forever transferring his affections from one girl to another--it kept us in a tizzy? Nancy and Donnie were ''steadies''--also Frances and Bobby ? We called upon Frances Glass to take us places in her car? Ruth Sorrels made such good grades ? The faculty played basketball against the P.M. H.S. varsity team ? Peggy started going steady with 'Cute!'? We were carefree high school guys and gals? hae A — — SF — ag ee ed —_— So a E. Hamilton Coleman Kling Rice Rader Brantley R.
