Basketball Team Is Organized At School the twenty-five boys to use. Festival Queen Chosen On Friday of last week the class officers met in Room 7 and nominated Peggy Cole, Rita Gar- rett, .Betty Jane Slough, and Martha Grae Slough as candidates for queen. Tuesday during the homeroom period each student voted for two of the candidates and Rita Garrett receiving the highest number of votes was elected queen and | Peggy Cole receiving the next highest number was elected princess. ths: This Christmas Festival will be held Friday, December 5, in downtown Buena Vista, Music! Music! Music! The Glee Club and the Band have selected music for their istmas program which is to fie given in the schoo] auditorium December 15. Both groups are working very hard to make’ this program an enjoyable one. Bridge defeated PMHS 13-9 Saturday at Glasgow in a hard fought game. PMHS receiv- cd the opening kickoff and drove to the NB 7-yard line before Ios: ing the ball on downs. Neither team offered a threat for the rest of the first quarter. NB received. a break in the second quarter when they recovered a bad pass from center on the BV 35. Jimmy Silvea went 17 yards on an end sweep for the score. Bill Moxley went thru center for the extra point, making the score 7-0 at the half. In the third quarter Bill Moxley plunged three yards for a touchdown to make the score NB-13, PMHS 4, NB lost two more opportunities to score when their fumbles were re- covered by Gene Humphries on the 7-yard line and by Lessely Noel on the l-yard line. In the fourth quarter Randolph Watts of NB intercepted a pass and ran 63 yards the wrong way before he was tack- led in the end zone by Gene Hum- phries for a safety. Later in the same quarter Dale Rice came in for one play and threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Johnny Morgan. “Cute” Coleman passed to Johnny Morgan for the extra point. The game ended several minutes later. .PMHS closes its 1950 season on Friday night at Lexington when they take on Lexington Hi Schoo}. Game time is 8:00 p. m., and will . be played on the Lexington Recres- tion Field. Football Squad Elects Queen At a meeting of the squad last week, Paggy Cole was. elebted Queen of the Football Pageant with Patricia. Ruley and Betty Jane Slough as her attendants. All three are from the senior class.
