SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY Ub It was at our Gypsy Costume Dance, where I acted the part of a gypsy fortune teller, that I first discovered that I had the gift of prophecy, When I was selected as class prophet, I decided to try my powers of reading the future in the crystal ball, As I gaze into the ball I concentrate all my thoughts On the year 1962. Soon I begin to see figures moving to- wards me - and strange to relate, I see to be able to read their thoughts and, in a flash, to understand all that has happened to them during the fifteen years following their graduation from Parry MeCluer High School in 1947, ‘ 1h “Th Nh ry My “Th “Uh First, I see Jimmy Page, who enjoyed so much being judge at the trial of Curtis Floyd at graduation, that he decided to study law and make a career of it. He is now a distin- guished judge of the local Federal Distriet Court. We little thought when Bobby Riegert was president of the Senior Class that he someday would be the Junior Senator from Virginia. Of ‘course, the Parry MeCluer alumni voted for him as they did in high school. Marion Seay is now a well-known singer of the Metropolie tan Opera company in New York, She still enjoys singing for us over the radio some popular songs we all used to leve in high school days. Lewis Wagner became so interested in electricity while Studying Physies in high school that he is now chief elece trocutioner at the Federal Penitentiary at Atlanta, Georgia. On the artistic side, he is known all over the country for his much loved comic strip, Bringing up Great Grampap. He has just been made manager of Graybill’s new department store, Grades in Geometry at the Southern Seminary have surely been improving lately. Wonder if Sam Burks’ being the new geometry instructor could be having anything to do with this? Lucille Wheeler has, at last, married an old rich man, She has just donated $50,000 to the new school building. Sheldon Davidson is now a building contractor. He has just finished the second new addition to the Parry MeCluer School Py Marion Coleman is married to a Frenchman and is living in Paris. Her French has certainly served her to good advane tage. Mary Ann Eggleston, who for a good many years has been head nurse in the hospital located on Mapp’s Hill, will soon be the new Welfare Director of Buena Vista. Kenneth Hickman is helping Charles Atlas to make boys into men by giving them muscular training. Elsie Huffman is now Chief of Police in Buena Vista since her Uncle Bernard has resigned, During high school days we thought Betty Lee Jennings was too lazy to accomplish much, but you ought to see how she steps around as a waitress at Royer’s Restaurant. Girls}! Tune in every evening at 7:15 to hear Margaret Lanum in her new serial Sylvia's Only Love , advertising Blushing Bride Beauty creme, Joe Ed MeGahey is a civil engineer. He has just fin- ished helping complete the Pan American Highway, AU Hinks Rinker, one of our baseball stars during high school days, has accepted the position as manager of the New York Yankees.
