As I peer into the future to the year 1967, I can see my classmates as they go their way in this business of living. Elaine Allbritton has inherited Olivia's Beauty Shoppe. Linda Herron is working in the Cordova Post Office, right beside her favorite mailman. Buddy Nelson is the featured musician with Hodo's Band. Peggy Lou Sanders is now head cheerleader for Alabama and is living it up. So you finally made itl Glenn Robertson has renewed his contract with the Green Bay Packers. Janice Jones, still searching for a man she can trust, has gone to see the man in the moon. That familiar voice you heard broadcasting the Rose Bowl Game was none other than Wayne Jett's. Sandra Williams and Gwen Sanford are bachelor girls operating the San-Gwen Dancing School in Puerto Rico. Terry Grace is owner and manager of the Washington Red Skins. Sue Key has taken over the Debbie Drake Show. Dewayne Uptain, Donald Moore, and Roger Kilpatrick have made All -American in 2 new sport called Ten Ball, a combination of tennis and football. Marie Tittle took over where Marilyn Monroe left off, and Ruth Rowe is her agent. Sandra Foley is the Weather Girl on WBRC. Steve Argent is Finance Chairman for Southern Bell. Randy Key is teaching poetry writing at Oakman High School. Grace Earnest is operating an automat in Chicago. Sybil Atkins is on the Board of Directors of First National Bank. Ethel Lewis is still touring Europe on her go-cart. Oliver Dodson has taken over with his fiddle where Elvis Presley left off with his guitar. I oe Ralph Fletcher is the Director of Tours for the Rockefeller Center. Tim Courington, Eugene Lawes, and Ollie Wayne Shepherd have just arrived on the moon and are making friends with the little green women. CHARLES WARREN Prophet If jlgafor The class of 1962 came to this school six long years ago. Under the guidance of Miss Ruth Richards and Mrs. Edith Deason, we soon adjusted to high school life. That year we chose Linda Herron and Joe Ralph Fletcher as our sponsor and escort for Homecoming. Linda Herron was elected cheerleader. The next year we were under the guidance of Miss Pearl Key and Mrs. Leon Short. We chose Nancy Harbinson and Oliver Dodson as our sponsor and escort. Linda Herron was again elected cheerleader. Our Freshman year was a very eventful one for us. We were permitted to make a Homecoming float. We chose Brenda Hendon and Bobby Kitchens for Homecoming sponsor and escort. Several mem- bers ofthe class won honors. Peggy Sanders won Miss Sweetheart of Parrish High. Linda Herron placed in the Miss Sweetheart contest. Peggy Sanders and Marie Tittle placed in Miss F. H. A. contest. Joe Fletcher was elected Vice-President of the Walker County Council of the Junior Red Cross. The next year we were Sophomores under the direction of Mrs. Martha Crawford and Mr. Erston Bon- ner. Gwen Sanford was elected Miss F. H. A., and Marie Tittle placed in Miss F. H. A. Linda Her- ron, Janice Jones, and Ethel Lewis placed in Miss Sweetheart. Roger Kelpatrick placed in Mr. Cupid. Carolyn Daily and Joe Fletcher were elected sponsor and escort for Homecoming. Joe Fletcher was elected President of the Walker County Council Junior Red Cross, Our Junior year was a memorable one. Under the guidance of Mrs. Willodean Baird, we gave a beautiful Junior- Senior Banquet. The theme for the banquet was Mardi Gras, and the decorations were fabulous. In the Miss Parrish High contest, Peggy Sanders placed third and Linda Herron placed fifth. Joe Fletcher shared the title of Mr. Cupid with Grover McMillian. Linda Herron was elected cheer- leader. Peggy Sanders was the county winner in the oratorical contest. August 28, 1961, is a memorable date to us of the graduating class, for on that date we enrolled as SENIORS! Under the capable and patient guidance of Mrs. LaFayette Michael, we were soon at work on the many activities that go with the honor of being Seniors. Every member of the class was on the annual staff. To finance the annual, we sold magazines, Mason candy, and Christmas cards. We also sponsored the and Miss Parrish High contest and Joe Fletcher won Mr. Parrish High. Donald Moore, Glenn Robertson, and Tim Courington placed in the Mr. Parrish High contest. Peggy Sanders placed third in Miss Parrish High. Sandra Williams and Glenn Robertson were sponsor and escort for Homecoming. Peggy Sanders was the only Senior cheerleader. Peggy Sanders was chosen DAR Good Citizenship Girl. This has been a year of hard work but an enjoyable one, and we thank Mrs. Michael for working so faithfully with us to help us make our Senior year one filled with pleasant memories.
