It was marked by sev- eral socials and highlighted bythe annual banquet, at which parents, employers, and teachers are honored. This year the affair was held during the Christmas season. 35 members of the DO. Club attended the Convention of the Southwest District of DO. Clubs, held in Bay Minette. There the Parrish club placed first in the oratorical contest and also won first place in the skit contest with their skit, Square Pegs. ln April a bus was chartered and members iourneyed to Tuscaloosa to the State D.O. Club Conven- tion. There their Skit took first place in a statewide competition. The Club's projects this year resulted in the presentation to the school of a two-door bulletin board with flourescent lights, and the purchase of a combination safe and filing cabinet for use of the DO. Club. Two Parrish High D.E. Etudents won first and second prizes in the statewide essay contest on Spelling as a Career. Page 57 mmm 45:3 Q5 Q V 'l ashes Mf,'in LEFT TO RIGHT: D. Nelms, . Holt, I.
