Having learned all the dols and don'ts from superior upperclassmen while freshmen, we were ready to settle down as sophomores and really get things done. As a result we took first place with our Halloween skit and held two successful parties, one near Christmas and the other in the second semester. In 1956 sophomores could be found taking an active part in the following clubs and organizations, on the annual staff, Doyle Cornwell, Betty Bozeman, Sharon Nelsen and Mike Sweet, on the Student Council, Doyle Cornwell, Betty Bozeman and Eleanor Scott, and on the paper staff, Doyle Cornwell and Steve Tyson. The Pep Club president was a sophomore, Betty Bozeman, and the secretary, Eleanor Scott, and treasurer, Helen Suter, also were sophomores. Doyle Cornwell, a sophomore, was the F.F.A. reporter and all the F.H.A. officers were sophomore girls. Sophomore boys were also found in the Panther Club and taking an active part in sports. Also, this was the first year in Class HA league, so, although the team failed to win a single game, Coach Dar Mathewson showed no disappointment. Altogether about 45 boys turned out for practice. There were five seniors, seven or eight juniors, and the rest were sophomores. The team lost Don Fisher early in the season because of injuries received in the Payette game. At Graduation time the team will lose Bruce Carpender, Glen Knapp, Lloyd Hammond. Jerry Pinkston and Don Fisher.
