SENIOR CLASS OF '56 None of you have ever faced a more important decision than your choice of a life work. To determine the kind of work you want and prepare for it is in itself a whole educational process. Some of you undoubtedly will strive to enter the classical professions of law, medicine, and theology. These time honored branches of learning rank high as to contributing to the welfare and advancement of society. Yet most important to you as individuals is the ultimate inner satisfaction that you will obtain from your chosen profession. Match all of the possibilities of your chosen field against what you conceive to be your own capa- bilities. match them with circumspect and cogita- tion. Then assure yourself that success and happiness are not always measured in financial terms or monetary rewards. If by chance you later find that you have chosen unwisely in your selection, in building toward a successful future. 4 .. ...fl Il 1-v---1' ,ILZC-1' Il ff' Q that, too, can be part of an educational experience I would sooner avoid the cliches that are usually prated at seniors in this noteg however, it is probable that we have few graduating classes that have been placed into society under such challeng- ing conditions. We are confident that you will transfer your knowledge and your active participation in scholar- ship, music, science, commercial, drama, and ath- letics into related but more serious pursuits. Let's avoid the shrug of the shoulder attitude which has permeated much of our thinking. Strug- gle for what you want. Don't be afraid to put forth the effort needed to bring success in your chosen field. Sincerely, A- -QQ64 . . . , '- vu f'--ru it - Q ltlllllllllli nu
