Language arts department set goals lfrtshmcn sort and compare literary achievements. With the aid of poetry, prose, and drama, Freshmen adjusted themselves to high school learning, while Sophomores broadened their basic understanding of the language. Instructors stressed vocabulary and usage to underclassmen. Juniors and Seniors chose their semester English courses according to personal tastes and interests. Courses varied from the study of fami- ly living to a review of English basics, and spanned the years between Beowulf and Brad- hurv. The purchase of a video-tape machine and camera allowed Mass Media classes to film and view student productions. Other uses included: recording educational programs for future reference and study. In addition, the ad- ministration proposed to install educational television in classrooms.
