This year twenty-eight students received job op- portunities from Joplin businessmen. Jobs rang- ed from supermarket cashier to dental assistant. Not only did students learn new skills, but they also had the pleasure of managing their ear- nings. Most students found themselves capable of tackling problems and finding their place in loday's business world. W'ith the assistance of Mr. Gary Roney, speech and drama students broadened their interests and skills in dramatics as well as developed their sell'-confidence. Drama students received the opportunity to at- tend a unique mime workshop instructed by two French performers. Fundamentals of Speech classes simulated a radio broadcasting studio, attempting to grasp an understanding of the radio industry. Novice dehaters employed their efforts learning the unusual techniques of debate by researching issues of political reformg while more experienc- ed debaters displayed their talents in speech tournaments.
