Students progressed at their own rate, passing increasingly difficult levels of achievement and skill. Wood carving, ceramics, sculpture, and a variety of drawing, painting, and printing comprised the art students' year. The semester classes formed this year provided students with a chance to learn a greater assort- ment of homemaking skills in less time. Cook- ing classes experimented with taste tempting foreign dishes while sewing classes constructed difficult patterns of clothing. concentrates on forming realistic features. Business students studied shorthand in hope of better secretarial skills. Clerical practice prepared students for clerical and secretarial jobs through methods of filing, using technical dictaphone machines, and learning ways of du plicating.
