Smith 140fgirl's sports Coached by Mrs. Barbara Calwhite, the tennis team smashed, lobbed, and volleyed their way to victory and first place in district competition. Julie Alford, Janet Cooper, Terri Hailey, and Renee Kanan, returning lettermen, helped the team better last year's record. The track team, guided by Mrs. Marsha Harlan's keen judgement, focused upon the technical aspects of the sport necessary to achieve a win- ning stance. Running and field events com- prised the challenging competitive schedule. The golf team spent practice hours perfecting their skills in strokes, putts, and drives. Hun- ting lost balls proved to be a difficult and a sometimes frustrating experience of routine practice. Mrs. Joyce Woods, provided assistance with any problems that arose. Roundballers applied inishing touches Coach Tony Stark gives pointers on ball handling. With high hopes for an improved season, Coach Tony Stark prepared for the 1975 baseball season. Coach Stark shaped the young squad into a well-balanced team. Utilizing sixth hour, they developed basic skills and delved into the finer aspects of baseball.
