Under the leadership of head football coach Dewey Combs and with the aid of twenty-two returning lettermen the Bears had a 9-1 overall record. Parkwood's only defeat came in a disputed game against St. Joseph. This year's squad won a second championship in a row, the first team to do so in our district. Parkwood finally broke the jinx in the intra-city game with Memorial. The Bruins' strong wish- bone offense tallied a yearly total of 311 points and only allowed their opponents 72.
