Coach Deschamp's golf team this season lived up to his high expectations. Golf is a sport which depends on each individual's score, and there- fore, West was fortunate to have several skillful players - both strong, experienced seniors and good juniors and sophomores. The team demon- strated their strength when they broke their pre- vious school record at the home course with a total of 218. The outstanding team won match after match, and lost only to Central. West was avenged, however, when, at the Suburban South Conference Tournament our golfers defeated Central and every other team, and returned with the trophy. West's powerful four man team con- seisting of Gary Warren, Bill Thompson, Craig Hardcastle, and Glen Guenther won the Confer- ence title by seven strokes over the second place team at Terre Du Lac. Glen Guenther follows through after a drive Coach Deschamp holds the trophy West won in the Conference off the first tee Tournament. Randy Johnson demonstrates his own Craig Hardcastle tees off on the unique style first hole at Green Trails.
