Coach Kirtz This year's team started the season with a first place in the Kirkwood tournament and looked strong at many weights. The team re- lied mainly on its Seniors to set a winning example. At 98 pounds, Rob Millikan finished with an excellent 27-3 record and a berth in the state tournament. Co-captains Chris Phil- lips at 126 pounds and Bud Sines at 138 pounds showed strongly throughout the sea- son. Next year should be even more prom- ising as the team will be more experienced. With Randy Roddy coming back at 185 pounds, the team will not be lacking a state if contender. Among their accomplish- ments they won the Riverview Quad meet, the Suburban South Conference in Duel match compe- tition and took third in the Confer- ence tournament. This year's sophomore team was led by such players as Rick and Randy Ruppel, Craig Faris, Brad Smith, and Ken Frigo. They had excellent coaching by Mr. Newton.
