4 .L Model :Sl A Senate The committee meeting is called to order. Committee members prepare for the meeting at Central later that week. Model Senate was started four years ago at Central as an experiment in political education and forthe first time, was done jointly with West on April 3, 4, and 7. Senators from both schools debated bills on topics ranging from the legalization of prostitution, to the legalization of marijuana. After bills passed the hurdle of committee meetings they proceeded to the General Assembly. Party leaders were Bob Portnoy, Elise Shumway, Frank Nlermoud, and Kathy Sullivan. Head- ing the committees were Katy Vignery, Karla Taylor, Tim Cannon, and Lynne Durbin. The President pro tempore was- Judy Juftee and the school coordinator was Laura Kennedy. There were four hundred students that participated in the Spring Choral Concert. This year was extra-special: the St. Louis Sym- phony Orchestra came and accompa- nied the Choirs in Frances PouIenc's Gloria. Another one ofthe main selec- tions was Godspell, which had a special light show that Mr. Dunivent put togeth- er. Everyone who attended the con- cert throughly en- joyed the program.
