The players new to high school basketball, the freshman team, took the sea- son one game at a time, so their 4-15 record can be over- looked, according to Coach Vern Pendergast. Since many ex- perienced players moved up to the varsity level the sopho- more team had to compen- sate for the loss, commented several players. Soon the team was able to get their con- fidence up and developed a consistent playing style and towards the end ofthe season avenged themselves when they defeated Parkway South 44-59.
