Mrs. Lehman has been with the student nurses for 20 years, her first year be- ing at the old Methodist Hospital. Many years have passed but Mrs. Lehman's devotion to her work and girls has kept her busy. When Mrs. Lehman sits at the housemother's desk, she always has a hi for every individualwho enters the lobby. Mr. Mark Slen, Parkview Administrator, is con- stantly cooperating with students, faculty, and hospital to better the student opportunities and relations with the outside world. Accreditation was a major accomplish- ment this ye ar. fleftzj STANDING, Patricia Kuhs, co- ordinator of Fundamentals of Nursing, and Susanne Tarr, coordinator of Med- ical-Surgical Nursing, worked together in correlating and applying freshman with junior year. CONSULTANTS frightq jane Ervin, librarian, is always busy with faculty and students' demands. She briefs all material entering the library for a basic knowledge of the literature available. flower leftzj The housemothers, Lulu Lehman, Florence Powell, and Edna Davison were mothers away from home . They will be life long friends to all the girls. flower rightzj Esther Mossburg, director of Health Service, aided Drs. Alvin Haley and Richard juergens in keeping each Student in good health. SENIOR INSTRUCTOR Besides grading papers and preparing for accreditation, instructors found time and ideas which turned into major happenings-- volleyball, parties, and friendship. N15 .. Fogel, engineer at Park- view Hospital, is a friend to each senior. From freshman year to junior year as junior yardmen and receiving the first Yardbirds' Award, our class always smiled and said hi Mr . Feagel as they passed that special of- fice. Many girls appeared excited when the first day of the 1970-71 school year began. New faces, ideas, and mannerisms ap- peared as well as old friends, and classmates. This day in- cluded striping for the juniors and seniors as well as probie arrival. The first few days in- cluded teas and meetings of the faculty at Purdue and the school. Mr . Many patients and visitors smiled as they saw the energetic girls busily mowing lawn, trimming bushes, pulling weeds, and raking leaves , The evening was led by Mr . Al Fogel. Of course, the work was hard but rewards were in the future as well as each girl knowing she had helped with keeping Parkview Hos- pital's grounds neat, clean, and well trimmed . O PUMPKIN DAY Ugly nurses, the old woman who lived in a shoe, Cand her brats, tool a baby bottle, a rose, Cannibals, Ruth Buzzy, hippies, and whacky doctors . The clowns, Brownies, and Indians even made their appearance for the annual Halloween party . The seniors put on the lights, the juniors assisted with bulbs and decorations and the freshmen added their own decorations. This, also, was in celebration of the recent capping of many happy freshmen. The music by The Independence Road made the night an evening of song and memorable event. THE WEE THEAR T BALL Qabove, lefty The people enjoyed the music. Sherry and Dan enjoyed watching others as well as listening to the mu- sic. Freshmen students served the seniors, their guests, and the hospital guests. The Alumni of PV School of Nursing were hostesses to the senior students ata bingo and fondue party, Special recipes were tasted. LITTLE LQMANS Parkview girls once again showed the Fort Wayne community who are the best tricycle riders . The team of freshmen, dressed in multi -colored aprons and chef hats, whizzed past the spectators . After winning the races against the other com- peting girl teams, the lucky PV girls were honored to race the Air Aces from WOWO . The final race was won with ease . Since this was the third year of winning the traveling trophy for greatest total of points, PV was awarded the ownership of the trophy. The French chefs' riding team was certainly excited. 4 ALUMNI BANQUET S The 1971 graduating se- niors were honored at the Alumni Banquet held at the Sheraton Hotel. A cocktail hour plus dinner and speaker were part of the arrange- ments . Mr . R . Nelson Sni- der and wife were honored. The seniors of the graduating class received long stemmed white roses tipped in light blue . The program books and decorations were done in the class colors of avocado green and light blue.
